5 Breathtaking Classic Cars
Some classic cars are desirable solely by virtue of their age, regardless of how slow or ugly they are. Others though, combine breathtaking styling along with race-bred performance and handling, and it is these beauties that command the highest prices, considering that some of these classic cars can sell for upwards of one million dollars.

Mercedes 300 SL
With its gull-wing doors, the iconic Mercedes 300 SL is one of the best looking German cars of all time. Sometimes form and function come together perfectly, and such is the case with the 300SL.
With its aerodynamic body, it was the fastest production car in the world when it was introduced in 1954. It is easy to be distracted by the gull-wing doors, but the 300SL looks just right from all angles.

One of Northern California’s major automotive events is underway in San Francisco this weekend. The San Francisco Auto Show is held by the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGate.com and presented by AutoTrader.com.

The SF Auto show is an international event showcasing the 2012 model year cars from most of the major manufacturers around the world including Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Fisker, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, infinity, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land-Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, McLaren, Mazda, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Scion, Subaru, Toyota, VW and Volvo.

Winter is quickly approaching the North State and it’s about time to think about winterizing your car. Preparing your car for winter is a little different if you are living in the warmer Redding and Red Bluff area then is you are in Mount Shasta or Yreka or near the coastal towns of Crescent City or Eureka but many things remain the same.
Winter Tires
Winter means bad weather, wherever you live in Northern California. For the more temperate areas like Redding or along the coast that likely means making sure you have sufficient tread on your tires to keep you from hydroplaning when it starts to rain. If you are in the mountain areas then it’s time to check the snow tires and see if they need to be replaced.
Don’t forget to check your snow chains also. This is a good time to make sure they are clean, have a light coat of oil to keep them from rusting and have fresh rubbers if you need to use bands to keep the chain tight on the tire. (more…)
