An affordable Convertible Sports car, only a dream? Well, not according to the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA). NEMPA named the 2009 Ford Mustang as its “Favorite Affordable Convertible” at the 52nd Annual New England Auto Show.
So what makes a winner for the “Favorite Affordable Convertible” slot? According to the New England journalists a combination of fun, affordability, style and economy.
“I would like to thank the New England Motor Press for the Mustang award,” said John Felice, general marketing manager, Ford Lincoln Mercury. “This award is proof that Ford is providing products that people truly want and value. And those products will keep coming year after year.”
2010 Ford Mustang
Ford is following up it accomplishments in 2009 with a new exterior design for the 2010 Mustang with more horse power in the V-8 engine and a “throatier” exhaust sound. The 2010 model comes with either a V-6 or a V-8 engine and a choice of coupe, convertible or innovative glass roof. Move up to a GT and you can look forward to 315 horsepower from your new ride!
“Sculptured wheel flares” on both the front and rear fenders top of the already sporty design of this new Pony, which also has a sculptured deck lid, a prominent rear badge (new design) and aggressively angled rear corners.
Safety features on the new Pony include the AdvanceTrac® Electronic Stability Control, all speed traction control, anti-lock breaking and Dual-stage driver and front passenger air bags all standard equipment.
If your looking for a little more economy the V-6 engine comes with a 4.0 single overhead cam and either a 5 speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission delivering 210 horsepower.
I also liked some of the finishing touches that have been added like the new tail lamp that uses 3 LEDs that fire off sequentially for the turn signals and the new headlamp design.
Looks like another winner from the design team at Ford!

According to Fords Specs on the 2010 Mustang the V6 engine produces 210 hp at 5300 rpm and the GT with the 4.6l engine produces 315 at 6000 rpm

What an awesome looking ride. I love those Ford Mustangs. I suppose if you can afford to buy one you can afford the insurance. Christy
