For those interested in flashy boats and high speeds, Red Bluff’s annual Nitro Nationals is the place to be.

With high-powered boats gliding across the water at well over 200 MPH the Nitro Nationals continues to be a huge success year after year. Two years ago the world record of 264 MPH was set at the Nitro Nationals.

There are 13 unique classes and 150 boats making it an all day event and a site to see. The Show and Shine on Friday May 23rd gave us the chance to see the boats up close and hear their engines roar before seeing them in action on Saturday (postponed).

Once again the guys at Kool April Nites put on an awesome show! Just about every Classic, Vintage, Antique car and truck you can imagine was there. As usual there was also a large showing of highly modified cars and trucks.

The weather was great this year, no clouds, not too cool, for the entire event. We showed up for the cruse and the main show on Saturday and took a ton of shots of some great cars and trucks. Don’t forget to stop by our 2008 Kool April Nites gallery.

Quick update on the Next Kool April Nites show in Redding. Last time I posted I was unable to find the exact date of this years show. it’s been scheduled for April 16-20 2008.

It’s good to note that they are only allowing 2300 cars this year. While that may seem like a huge number, in past years many cars have had to be turned away to limit the size of the event. So, if you’re looking to add your car, the sooner you register the better. Either way, April 9th is the dead line for entering.

As usual there will be a cruse scheduled on the Friday night before the show. (more…)

Hope everyone enjoyed the great weather for Redding’s Cool April Nights cruze on April 20th 2007. Once again there was a great turnout of spectators and an awesome verity of vintage cars and trucks to check out. Street vender’s pedaled their wares to the sound of revving engines and the occasional squeal of tires.

We managed to get some seats close enough to the live band near the Mt Shasta Mall to be entertained for the whole show.Unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite as nice for the car show at the Redding convention center the next day, where it rained most of the day.
