Spotlight on 2010 Ford Mustang AV-X10

The brand name Ford Mustang AV-X10 resembles the air venture experimental project model that is built based on the 2010 Ford Mustang car. The digit “10” in the name represents the Ford Mustang model year and also the ten millionth engine models from Romeo Engine Plant. The fully customized model, which happens to be one of its kinds, is designed and created by the Ford team that includes George Saridakis, a design manager of the Ford group, Darrell Behmer a chief designer from the Ford Mustang group, Dave Pericak, a chief nameplate engineer from the Ford Mustang and also includes senior designers like Garen Nicoghosian and Robert Gelardi.
The Mustang AV-X10 is built based on the Mustang GT 2010 model with the option providing glass roof. The modifications made to the vehicle like exhaust tips, tuned exhaust, handling pack and the supercharger in the vehicle delivers 550 hp from the 4.6 liter aluminum block that includes 24 valves in the engine. The Handling pack equipped in the vehicle lowers ride height up to one inch and optimizes the performance. The model is also called as the Dearborn Doll and the name is displayed on the quarter panels at the front side to augment the connection to the World War 2 era fighter planes.
An all-glass roof in the vehicle features a Bar graphic treatment and Air force star. The interior in the model is designed inspired by the aviation and is made up of Bader worn leather. The other features in the vehicle include, military khaki shaded door inserts and diamond tucked seats. The noticeable features in the package include Ford Racing Pyrometer, Fuel pressure gauges along with the AV-X10 and Ground Speed cluster graphics. The model features with the white gloss accents that resemble the P-51 Mustang P-51 aircraft.
The Ford Mustang AV-X10, will indeed be one of its kind from the Ford Motor Company, and it is nicknamed as Dearborn Doll. It is expected to be on sale at the world’s greatest aviation celebration, Experimental aircraft Association (EAA) Air Venture Oshkosh in 2009. The EAA Airventure will take place from 27th of July, 2009 to 2nd of August, 2009 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at Wittman Regional Airport. The first sale of the new Ford Mustang AV-X10 will begin from the evening of 30th July at the EAA Eagles Gathering at AirVenture.
The design theme of the AV-X10 features exclusive Satin Silver paint at the exterior region with rear wing and yellow nose, 19 inch Shelby GT500 wheels with yellow tips, in liquid silver and white gloss accents that resembles the connection with the popular P-51 aircraft from the Mustang, which got famous during the World War 2.
In order to resemble the authentic connection with the fighter planes used in World War 2, the Ford Mustang AV-X10 model is labelled with the nickname, Dearborn Doll in the quarter panels at the front side. The model is inspired by the aviation models and includes all the features in military shades and designs.

I’ve seen the Ford Mustang AC-X10 model up close and you can tell that while it’s not a standard mustang, it’s style design is a direct descendant of the Mustang. I’m hoping to see one up close at the next Chicago Auto show in February.

Ford Motor Company created a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle, the Mustang AV-X10 ‘Dearborn Doll,’ to be sold at auction during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 2009 Air Venture Oshkosh, the world’s greatest aviation celebration. Ford is the exclusive automotive partner with EAA Air Venture Oshkosh and all of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the Young Eagles organization. EAA Air Venture Oshkosh will be held from July 27 to Aug. 2 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The name Mustang AV-X10 is trademarked by Ford Motor Company and symbolizes an Air Venture Experimental project vehicle based on a 2010 Ford Mustang The ‘10′ designation represents the model year of the Mustang, plus the 10-millionth engine from the Romeo Engine Plant.
